Dee joins hogger status, ACC Pro Shop still holds team lead
ACC Pro Shop remained atop the Men’s League standings and another member joined hogger status after Week 4 of the first half was put in the books.
Robbie Dee’s even par 35 was the highlight of the evening, good enough to win gross and net honors including nabbing a portion of the deuce pot. Dee carded two birdies and two bogeys, and nearly holed out on No. 8 — where he would roll in his deuce to share it with four others.
Dee shared the low gross with Pete Reisenauer at 30, as the old dog came in with five pars and four bogeys.
Spencer Parks, still hobbled from his near death experience at CrossFit, Bill Clark, Paul Johns and Leo Graham all joined Dee with a share of the deuce pot. Rick Wagner took home the KP honors on No. 4, using the contest to kick off back-to-back birdies.
Speaking of four, that’s how many shots it took the author to get off the tee on the brutally difficult Par 5 sixth. He would stumble home with an exhilarating 13 to highlight the evening’s blooper reel.
Speaking of stumbling, that’s precisely what ACC Pro Shop continues to do with two weeks left in the first half. Parks returned after his nightmarish twisted ankle suffered doing stupid things with ropes and weights, but wasn’t the only member hobbling home to nurse his wounds. Regardless, the squad still holds a 4.5 lead over Haufbrau-AOH.
Lorengo & Sons logged the biggest win of the week, knocking Thompson’s Bar from second to fifth with a 26.5-13.5 drubbing. Sawyer Plumbing remained in third, just 6.5 points behind ACC Pro Shop.
