‘Heads stay undefeated, roll over Lady Falcons 64-37
The Copperheads, coming off their biggest program win since joining Class B, made sure 6B rival Florence didn’t catch them in a trap-game.
On Tuesday, the No. 3-ranked Copperheads led wire to wire, knocking off Florence 64-37 to stay unbeaten and on top of the 6B standings.
Anaconda shot 54 percent from the field and dished out 18 assists to stymie the pressure defense of Florence.
Senior Megan Reich led the team in points for the third-straight game, knocking down 13 on 6-of-8 shooting and a trey. Sami Johnson went 2-for-2 from deep and finished with nine points, Alyssa Peterson also had nine and senior post Mia Sullivan-Sanders added eight with five rebounds and four assists.
Freshman Makena Patrick led the team with seven rebounds along with seven points and two assists and junior Kora Kelly, playing in her first game of the season, added six points, four assists and two boards off the bench.
Florence never could get going offensively, shooting just 32 percent from the field and 2-of-10 from deep. Kassidy Yeoman knocked down both treys for the Lady Falcons en route to a team-high 14. Trista Williams and Kylie Kovatch added six and five points, respectively.
Also scoring for Anaconda was Maniyah Lunceford and Nevaeha Cook with three points and Bianca Torney with two.
Anaconda will be back in action Tuesday when they host Granite Co.
