ACC Pro Shop builds commanding lead
Led by Frank “Cowhead” Moreni’s 1-under 35, ACC Pro Shop scored a Week 2 high 31.5 points to take a commanding lead in the ACC Men’s League standings.
While Cowhead’s 1-under par included eight pars and one birdie, Jake Kelly matched that total with three birdies — one of which was a deuce on No. 17 — and two bogeys.
Cowhead shared low net honors with Cory Crawshaw, who shot two over with seven pars and two bogeys. The pair came in with 32 net. Bryan Wolfe laid a brick to within 3-feet on No. 17, accounting for the only other deuce of the night with Kelly.
Henry Huber won closest to the pin honors on No. 13, but failed miserably to help his teammates as it led to a disappointing par. Greens, apparently, must break differently in Powell County.
ACC Pro Shop (60.5) is now 10 points clear of Sawyer Plumbing in second place in the first half with four weeks to go. Haufbrau/AOH earned 28 points on the evening, the second-highest of Week 2.
