Anaconda adds NFHS Network stream to enhance athletics programs
Starting this week, Anaconda home athletics will be streamed live via the NFHS Network.
On Friday, Jan. 17, Anaconda will host Granite County (Philipsburg) for a boys-girls doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m. at newly-renovated Memorial Gymnasium. You can follow the games by accessing https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/anaconda-high-school-anaconda-mt or by searching Anaconda High School on the main page.
“I think the greatest benefit of adding this streaming capability is offering relatives the opportunity to watch their loved ones play when they wouldn’t have had that ability before,” said Justin Barnes, superintendent of School District 10 in Anaconda. “What it also does is open the possibilties of our athletes getting recruited. I think the kids are going to be excited knowing that people can tune in and watch them from all over the nation.”
Instead of it just being a video broadcast like so many other schools now offering NFHS Network broadcasts, Anaconda High has teamed with Coppehread Country Media, LLC in order to tap into live audio play-by-play offered at other Copperhead sporting events.
The NFHS stream charges $10.99 for a monthly subscription where a user can cancel at anytiime, or a yearly fee of $70 that will cover all sports covered by the school.
Moving forward, Anaconda High will offer football, volleyball and boys and girls basketball streams from Mitchell Stadium and Memorial Gymnasium while working on the ability to provide wrestling coverage as well.
Audio coverage of each game will commence at approximately five minutes before tip off. A live audio link to each Copperhead broadcast, home or away, is located on the home page of this site.
