‘Heads win home-opening dual over Three Forks

The first home dual of the season came down to the final match, and the good guys came out on top.
Anaconda 205-pounder Aiden Miller toed the line with team down 31-27 with a free six points waiting due to a Three Forks heavyweight forfeit. With the team results on his shoulders, Miller stuck Alex Fletcher in 39 seconds to secure the Copperhead dual victory, 39-31, Saturday at Memorial Gym.
Along with Miller, Jay Yazzi (120) and Tommy Sawyer (132) each won their matches via pin in the first period, coupled with a close 8-7 decision won by Christian Miller at 113, escaping for the winning point at the final buzzer.
Yazzi turned what was close to being an early-period pin into a win of his own, reversing the pinning combination of Jace Ashky into the win at 1:39. For Sawyer, it was the opposite. Leading 8-0 after a take down and six points in near fall, he would pin Gabe Hungerford at the 1:36 mark.
Defending champion Nate Blodnick drew a tough opponent in Livingston transfer Braden Linville, falling 3-0 at 103.
Anaconda will be back in action Tuesday, hosting Boulder at home.
