Copperhead Country wins second half
Led by Cory Crawshaw and Terry Heffernan with 9.5 and 8.5 points, respectively, Copperhead Country won the second half of the ACC Men’s League.
Copperhead Country’s week-high 27.5 points extended their lead to win the second half by 12.5 over second place Cedar Park/Carmel’s. Club Moderne/Rainier scored 26.5 points on the night to vault into a tie for 4th place.
Andy Stetzner was low gross for the night with a very steady even par 35. He had one birdie, one bogey and seven pars. Mike Kelly and Dave Wolfe shared low net with 30.
Robbie Dee had the only deuce of the night with a birdie on hole No. 2. Joe O’Brien had the closest to the pin on No. 7.
Next week is the overall league championship between the first half winner, ACC Pro Shop, and Copperhead Country. All other teams will play a position round with their total points for the entire year determining their place and hole assignments.
All points count towards the final standings and payouts. Next week’s league starts at 5:30 again, and will also include the playing of the Frank Rooney Memorial tournament. There will be a steak fry following golf.
