Skocilich (34-8) made short work of Cascade’s Eli Schreher in the title match, turning a snap double leg off the whistle into
instant nearfall points. Settling in after the takedown, Skocilich pinned his opponent just 19 seconds into the championship.
Three others will join Skocilich at the State B/C tournament in Billings next week. Freshman 103-pounder Brad Connolly (16-10) finished third after pinning Boulder’s Dominick Davis in 46 seconds. Dan Byrne, a 132-pound junior, capped a third-place finish by pin over Lars Madison of Great Falls Central at the 1:52 mark in the first period. Jake Whaley (6-11) finished fourth after losing via pin to Dakota Dorn of Boulder.
Columbus/Absarokee won the team title with 221, knocking off the tournament host Townsend in second. Whitehall was third at 172. Anaconda finished in seventh with 65.
