TWIN BRIDGES – The Copperheads found out quickly that Class C can play some volleyball too.
In their first-ever regular season meeting, the Falcons turned a back-and-forth Game 1 win into a rout, sweeping Anaconda 25-23, 25-19, 25-14 Tuesday evening.
Anaconda was led by senior outside hitter Logan McKay with eight kills and senior middle blocker Addison Jovanovich with six. The Copperheads only manages 17 total kills in the loss. The duo also combined for three solo blocks, with McKay recording two. McKay and Addi Case each recorded three aces and Addy Olson had one. Adding to the offense, Olson, Ilaina Cline and Josie McKelvy contributed one kill apiece.
The loss moves Anaconda to 1-1 on the season with Class A Dillon waiting in the wings for their Thursday matchup at Memorial Gymnasium. That match will be broadcast live on copperheadcountry.org at approximately 7 p.m.
