LIVINGSTON – The Copperhead Cross Country teams earned a nice soft opening event to begin their season, winning the PHS Seamus Camp Invitational Friday afternoon.
Sophomore Gage Novak took home the individual medalist honors, crossing the finish line in first at 18:33. Sophomore Austin Schellenberg, Wyatt Jense and Avery Wayland all finished in the Top 10 with a seventh, ninth and 10th-place finish, respectively. Freshman Madden Zeren rounded out the team scoring with a 13th place finish.
The Copperhead girls put two runners in the Top 10 with seniors Jayda Cornelius and Grace Mehrens ninth and 10th, respectively.
The Copperhead boys were the only team eligible for a team score in the mixed Class A, B and C school event. None of the participating girls teams had enough to qualify for an official team score.

The Copperheads are back in action Sept. 8 for the Butte Central Invitational at Fairmont Golf Course.
