MISSION – The Copperhead volleyball team rebounded from a loss in pool play when it mattered most, taking home the Mission Tip Off tournament championship.
In Pool Play, Anaconda defeated Troy and Thompson Falls but lost to Missoula Loyola in single play matches to 22. As the No. 2 seed in the B Pool, the Copperheads avenged that loss to Loyola in the semifinals then beat Plains in the championship match.
Although no official stats were provided, head coach Logan Stetzner applauded the overall youth and flexibility of her team. Seniors Logan McKay and and Addison Jovanovich led the team in kills and blocks, respectively, junior Addie Olson led the team in assists and junior Addi Case with digs.
The Copperheads kick off the regular season on Tuesday when they welcome Mission to Memorial Gymnasium.
