ANACONDA — Although their service game left little to be desired, Florence showed why its offense could potentially make them a tough out when tournament time comes rolling around.
Florence outhit Anaconda 35-15 en route to a 6B conference win over the Copperheads in straight sets, winning 25-17, 25-20, 25-18 Tuesday night at Memorial Gymnasium.
Lady Falcons senior outside hitter was nearly unstoppable, collecting a match-high 15 kills to pace the visitors. Outside hitter Kirklan Bates, middle blocker Alex Nelson and setter Alexis Danczyk all added six kills apiece. Danczyk also collected four of the teams six aces on the night.
Copperhead senior middle blocker Addison Jovanovich led the team with seven kills followed by eighth grader Maizee Mitchell’s three kills and one block and ace each. Senior outside hitter Logan McKay and sophomore Lexi Stetzner each tallied two kills apice.
Anaconda gets a day of rest before taking the road for another 6B conference test against Missoula Loyola Thursday.
