Copperheads sweep Deer Lodge for third time, cruise into 6B title match
DEER LODGE — Anaconda made short work of Deer Lodge to kick off the 6B District tournament this morning, winning in straight sets 25-13, 25-16, 25-21.
Senior outside hitter Aubrey Tuss recorded 12 of Anaconda’s 29 overall kills while senior Tiora Ferguson dished out 22 of the 27 assists in the victory. Freshman Maniyah Lunceford had a coming-out party of sorts, finishing with a season high five kills, four digs, two blocks and an assist in her first start.
Senior Megan Reich led the team with 13 digs followed by junior libero Malia Harris’ 11. Harris also accounted for five of the teams 12 aces.
Mia Sullivan-Sanders led the team with six blocks, adding four kills, two digs and an aces as well.
